Join The Carnival of Entrepreneurs!
I’m a big fan of blog carnivals - they’re a great way to find valuable content and generate some buzz for your own site.
There used to be a Carnival of Entrepreneurship but it disappeared. I loved it. I always found a new resource and some new ideas.
With that in mind I’ve started a new carnival (drumroll please…)

The Carnival of Entrepreneurs is dedicated to bringing you the best content about entrepreneurship that we can find. I hope we’ll collect a ton of tips, advice, insight and inspiration…
(A blog carnival is a regular event hosted at a specific blog. Each carnival is on a specific topic, and you can submit your own blog posts to the carnival. In exchange you get some link love and hopefully a growing community of friends! Read more here.)
Here are the details:
- The first Carnival will go live on December 13th. So you’ve got until December 11th to submit your posts.
- It’ll be a weekly event. The Carnival of Entrepreneurs will be launched every Wednesday.
- Submissions can be sent to me directly via email or you can use the submission form at the blog carnival site.
- Submissions are due each Monday at 2pm EDT (or earlier). That’ll give me enough time to review/publish.
- Unless what you send is total crap I’m going to post it. I may highlight some posts that I really enjoyed but this is a “carnival of inclusion.”
- We’re looking for everything and anything that’s entrepreneur-related. And since the definition of an entrepreneur is still up for debate, I’m going to be very flexible in terms of what we consider entrepreneurship. For example, if you’re a stay-at-home freelancer that considers your work entrepreneurial, then get involved!
- I’ll host the Carnival here until others decide they want to host it. I hope others will want to host it. Let me know if you’re interested.
Side note: You’re welcome to use the graphic I’ve created here (on your own blogs, when you host or you get a post published in the Carnival, or for the purposes of promoting the Carnival). Please, please, please do what you can to promote the Carnival!
I look forward to receiving a ton of great submissions and hope we can bring entrepreneurs closer together!
And don’t forget to subscribe to the RSS feed for Startup Spark! You can sign-up via email as well, if you’d like.

Although I’ve got a shaky grasp of what a blog carnival is, count me in, Ben. My life is a carnival of entrepreneurs, so contributions will come naturally.
Since you’re hosting, I’m assuming the funnelcakes, corndogs and deep-fried snickers bars are on you?

Carnivals are pretty straightforward once you see how they work.
Here’s an example: http://www.successjolt.com/2006/11/29/carnival-of-success-7/
Take a subject, ask people to write blog posts on it and submit those blog posts to you. Then you (as the host of the carnival) goes through the submissions and posts links to them (with brief descriptions.)
I look forward to your submissions, Sean!

I’m glad you are starting this carnival back up. I participate in a couple of finance related blogs with my personal finance blog and it has really helped my traffic as well as helped me to find other bloggers. Now that I have started a new business blog I hope to do the same with it. I’m not sure if I will make the Dec. 13th entry, but I’ll try!

Robert - thanks for stopping by and adding a comment. I hope you’ll be onboard for the 13th, but if not, then the week after!
Keep in touch!

[…] Provide a community point for entrepreneurs to get together and chat (part of the reason I started the Carnival of Entrepreneurs) […]

I remember the Carnival of Entrepreneurship - I even hosted it one week. It seems to have fizzled out.
Hopefully this one can hang around a bit - count me in for promoting it and submitting. Also put me down for hosting it one week.

Martin,
Thanks for the support. I’ll see how the Carnival goes for a few weeks - maybe host it through December, when I know things are hectic for a lot of people with vacations and the such, and in 2007 bring in some new hosts.
Kickstart Press looks like an interesting biz! Good luck!
